Indian, Brazilian Fn Mins hold discussions

New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) India and Brazil today reviewed bilateral ties and held discussions on regional and international affairs and the work of the G-4, IBSA, WTO, UN Reforms and G-8 and the Outreach Forum.

Brazilian Minister for External Relations, Celso Amorim, who concluded his two-day visit to India today, met External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee here this evening.

The External Affairs Minister attended office after four days following a road accident near Kolkata last week. He was admitted to the Army (Research and Referal) hospital in the capital after the accident.

An External Affairs Ministry spokesman said bilateral and multi-lateral issues were discussed in detail at the 30-minute meeting between the two Foreign Ministers.

In bilateral issues, work of the current Joint Commission was reviewed.

The discussions were also aimed at preparing the visit to India by the Brazilian President in June.

''The two Ministers reviewed cooperation in multi-lateral fora...These discussions covered IBSA, WTO, UNSC Reforms and G-4 as well as the G-8 and Outreach Forum,'' the spokesman said.

The External Affairs Minister also briefed his Brazilian counterpart on the recent SAARC Summit held in India.

The Brazilian Foreign Minister invited Mr Mukherjee to visit Brazil and the visit is expected later this year, the spokesman said.
