Five injured in ULFA strike
Guwahati, Apr 12 (UNI) Five civilians were injured in a grenade attack by ULFA rebels in upper Asom this evening.
Tinsukia Additional SP Amitabh Sinha told UNI the rebels hurled a grenade on a patrolling troops at Rupai under Doomdooma police station on Tinsukia district at around 1900 hours.
The jawans, however, escaped unhurt.
The five civilians injured, mostly petty traders, have been shifted to a local hospital.
Senior police officials had rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
The attack comes two days after eight senior rebels of the outfit were gunned down by the Army in the forests of Arunachal Pradesh.
