Fake currency seized at railway station in Punjab
Ludhiana, Apr 12 (UNI) The General Railway Police (GRP) today nabbed three Uttar Pradesh based persons and recovered Rs 1.30 lakh counterfeit currency from their possession at the railway station here.
A GRP official stated that the currency was recovered after search of their baggage. The three identified as Sarwan Kumar, Rajesh Kumar and Pawan Paswan, all of Balia district had alighted from a train.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that they had planned to exchange the fake notes with genuine currency notes. Further investigations are being conducted and the UP police had been informed.
