Diggy concerned over situation after marriage controversy
Bhopal, Apr 12 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh today expressed concern over the situation developed in the state capital after a Sindhi girl eloped and got married to a Muslim boy.
In a statement here today, Mr Singh said the government, the administration and police must not get involved in a matter related to the marriage of two adults.
He described it as inappropriate to link this incident with religious sentiments.
Mr Singh said organisations such as the Bajrang Dal should be criticised for trying to disrupt communal peace over a matter of marriage between two lovers.
The Congress leader said communal forces must learn lesson from the Mumbai High Court verdict in this regard.
He urged the state government to control the activities of the Bajrang Dal.
