Blocks in J'khand to be connected online by end of this month

Ranchi, Apr 12 (UNI) In order to expedite the exchange of information from Jharkhand headquarters to the district and block headquarters in the state, state government has decided to provide online connectivity through "Jharnet" by the end of this month.

At present about 103 blocks have been connected with 'Jharnet'.

State's Information and Technology Principal Secretary A K Basu here today said that talks were held with the authorities of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited to expedite the 'Jharnet' project.

Mr Basu said that work order of seven core projects of e-governance has also been issued.

Mr Basu said computerisation process of various departments were adding that preparations had also been done to provide video conferencig facilities to courts and jails in the state.

He said 'janseva'(public services) centres, which would provide information about developmental schemes at the panchayat level.

He said government has also prepared a trainig policies according to which computer training upto certain level for every official had been made mandatory.
