Ajit Jogi calls on Sonia
New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi called on Congress President Sonia Gandhi here today and discussed political developments in the State with her.
Mr Jogi, who led the party's poll campaign in Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha by-election as its campaign manager, is believed to have apprised Ms Gandhi about the alleged attempt by a senior Congress leader to sabotage the prospects of party candidate Dev Vrat Singh, who eventually won the seat with a big margin.
The meeting, which lasted 20 minutes, followed about a dozen party MLAs from the State meeting Ms Gandhi at her official residence to thank her for the victory of the Congress candidate in Rajnandgaon, which they attributed to her.
Soon afterwards the newly-elected MP, Mr Dev Vrat Singh, himself went to meet the Congress President individually.
