4 die in road accident, 30 injured

Mandala, MP, Apr 12 (UNI) Four labourers today died and 30 were injured when their truck lost control and overturned near a valley in the forest at Surangpani village in this district, police said.

The labourers, who had gone from Surangpani and Ghotkheda villages to Damoh for work, were returning when the incident occurred.

The deceased were identified as Kunti, Dharma, Dato and Gulab Singh.

One seriously injured was sent to Jabalpur, while others were admitted to hospitals in Mandala and Narayanganj.

The truck driver has been arrested.

Revenue department officials have announced Rs 50,000 ex-gratia to the family members of the deceased and Rs 10,000 ex-gratia to the injured.
