Zone-H signs MoU with E2 Labs

Hyderabad, Apr 11: Zone-H, the multinational Europe based IT security giant, has forayed into India by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with E2 Labs, India's fastest growing Info-Security Company providing comprehensive network security solutions to organisations across the globe.

Addressing a joint press conference here today, Zone-H Founder and CEO Roberto Preatoni and E-2 Labs CMD Zaki Qureshey said as per the MoU, E2-Labs would be the sole partner for Zone-H in training, services, consultancy, seminars and boot camps for the region that would include Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and India.

The partnership would kick off operations with a powerful six-day training programme on IT security for corporates, they added.

Mr Roberto would conduct the programme which include 'hacking unlimited', wi-fi security and web applications. The training programme would provide valuable, up-to-day perspectives on security threats that individuals and organizations were facing in today's work environment.

The programme also intended to provide hi-end training in Cyber Security and would equip the participants with a powerful set of skills to tackle the widely-prevalent and hitherto complex cyber crimes.

A study conducted by the Department of IT, had revealed that in the first half of 2006, India was the favoured target of internet hackers, especially after it had emerged as a hub for new technologies in IT sector. The analysis which was carried out by the Computer Emergency Response Team (Cert-In) had stated that in the first half of 2006, a total of 1,752 Indian Web sites were defaced, of which 39 were ".gov.in" websites.

A large number of Indian top level domain sites - .co.in, .net.in, .gov.in, .org.in, .nic.in, .ernet.in, .ac.in, and .res.in - were defaced, with the commercial sector contributing to 68.3 per cent of defacements, and the government sector contributing to 27.3 per cent of them. www.fmc.com, www.railnet.com, and www.ieg.com, were the three Indian government websites that were defaced on the VSNL network.

Zone H was looking for one million euro business in the current year in India with 200 per cent growth in the coming years, Mr Roberto said.

Zone H, considered the most authoritative voice on cyber crimes, had achieved global acclaim for its trail-blazing initiatives in IT security and is popularly known as the world's security observatory.

Hyderabad-based E2-Labs had the unique distinction of starting Asia's first School of Ethical Hacking. Its efforts in promoting information security across the globe had earned it the Red Herring 100 Private Companies of Asia 2005 award.
