Haryana DGP stresses on modernising police force
Fatehabad, Apr 11 (UNI) Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) R S Dalal today said that the state government was taking steps to modernise the police force and make it people friendly.
Mr Dalal was speaking at a function after inaugurating the newly built district police lines here.
The DGP said that the police was in the process of acquiring the latest means of communication and technology.
He said that arrangements had been made to make all FIRs available on the website of the police so that people could download these instead of going to police stations.
He said that the Haryana Police had started the process of separating the job of crime investigation from that of law and order management. He said that to start with, two police stations from each district had been chosen to separate the two important tasks.
He said that traffic management was an area of concern for the police as many people died daily in road accidents. He said that the police was endeavouring to improve traffic management so that precious lives could be saved.
The police lines has been constructed on 86 acres of land at a cost of Rs 9.5 crores.
The IG, Hisar Range, Yash Pal Singhal, DC, O P Sheoran, Saurabh Singh, A S Chawla, Vikas Arora, Subhash Yadav and Mohinder Singh, SPs of Fatehabad, Hisar, Sirsa, Bhiwani and Jind districts respectively were present on this occasion.
Earlier, the jawans of he district police exhibited their talent in martial arts and performed dare devil activities and also exhibited the mock exercise of mob control.
