New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) Setting aside a Bombay High Court order, the Supreme Court today directed the Directorate of Film Festivals to consider uncensored movies for the National Film Awards.
A Bench comprising Justice Tarun Chatterjee and Justice R V Raveendran allowed an appeal by the Directorate of Film Festivals against the impugned High Court order dated July 27, 2005.
After today's order, the Directorate is free to announce the 2006 National Film Awards, which were withheld till now because of the controversy surrounding them.
