Major fire breaks out in Bank of Baroda's Morjim branch

Panaji, Aprl 9 (UNI) A major fire broke out in Bank of Baroda's Morjim branch, about 30 km from here today.

A local, who first spotted the fire at around 1930 hrs, alerted the fire brigade, which rushed three fire tenders from Panjim, Permim and Mapusa to the spot and brought the raging fire under control.

Details of estimated loss and damage to lockers and cash chests is not yet known.

A grocery shop next to the bank was partially destroyed in the fire, sources added.
