Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) The Maharashtra government's Law and Judiciary department today re-notified all corruption cases, including the most infamous fake stamps and stamp papers involving Abdul Karim Telgi, to Additional Sessions Court Judge U D Salvi for a speedy trial.

In an order, the Law and Judiciary department stated that the cases under Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, which were denotified from Judge Salvi's court earlier were re-notified to the same court for speedy trial proceedings.

Due to de-notification effective from January 1 this year, all corruption cases were handled by Judge A R Joshi's court. All Telgi's cases, including partly heard, were also transferred to his court. However, Telgi trial proceedings, which were conducted through video conference facility, had been standstill because Mr Joshi's court did not have that facility.

Telgi is currently languishing in Yerwada Jail in Pune. Now, his trial proceedings will continue through video-conference.

Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said here today that date of the proceeding has been extended due to lack of video-conference facilities from January 1.

Four Telgi cases are in the half-way mark -- in Cuff Parade case, 33 witnesses have been examined, in Colaba case 25 witnesses examined, in Nirmal Nagar (all fake stamps papers cases) five witnesses were examined and in Telgi employee's murder case, 32 witnesses were examined, he informed.

Mr Gharat said from April 16 onwards, the trial will continue on day-to-day basis in Judge Salvi's court.

Four counterfeit stamps cases, involving Telgi, have been committed to Sessions Court from Metropolitan court recently, he added.
