Centre's negligence: FAIPT warns of strike on Apr 13
Vijayawada, Apr 9 (UNI) The Federation of All India Petroleum Traders (FAIPT) today threatened to launch a day-long nationwide strike on April 13, if the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre failed to resolve their long-pending demands.
A resolution was passed at the recently-held federation meeting in New Delhi, urging the Centre to immediately look into their demands, Federation General-Secretary M Narayana told UNI here today.
The Centre was not 'serious' on the demands raised by the dealership network, Mr Prasad said.
He said in the proposed strike, which would begin from the April 12 midnight and last till April 13 midnight, 29,000 petrol bunks in the country would down their shutters.
He said the set of demands included, the dealers margin be fixed at five per cent of the invoice value, providing marker testing equipment to enable the dealers to satisfy themselves with the quality of fuel supplied and appointing an appellate authority, where the dealers could appeal against the high handedness of the officers of oil companies.
He said if the demands were not resolved even after the one-day strike, the FAIPT would launch an indefinite nationwide prostest from April 28.
