Temperatures rising in North West region
Chandigarh, Apr 8 (UNI) There was an appreciable rise in the day and night temperatures in the North West region, including the hill state of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
The maximum temperatures in most parts of the region were two to three degrees above normal. The minimum temperatures were above two to six degrees normal.
The maximum in Amritsar was recorded at 35 degrees, three degrees above normal while the minimum was 21 degrees, six degrees above normal.
The maximum in the Union Territory of Chandigarh was also 35 degrees, two degrees above normal while the minimum was recorded at 22 degrees, four degrees above normal.
The capital tourist resort of Shimla was warm at 21 degrees, three degrees above normal. The nights in the hills were also fairly warm with Shimla recording a temperature of 12 degrees, two degrees above normal.
