11 women injured in pandal collapse incident in Amreli

Rajkot, Apr 7 (UNI) Eleven women were injured when the portion of a pandal collapsed on them at the sixth Mahila Sammelan in Amreli.

The incident occurred few minutes before the arrival of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi at the venue, to address the Sammelan, yesterday.

Heavy winds caused the collapse of the portion of the pandal, which was erected as a sitting arrangement for the women participants attending the Sammelan.

The injured women were shifted to Amreli civil hospital. Nine of them have been discharged after first aid, hospital sources said.
