Woman, daughter in hospital after firing by husband

New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) A woman and her 6-year-old daughter were today injured after her husband fired at her in Madipur area of West Delhi's Punjabi Bagh.

Meenu (30), along with her daughter Kashish, was rushed to the closeby Sanjay Gandhi Hospital after they sustained bullet injuries, according to the police.

However, they were declared 'out of danger'.

The incident took place this evening after accused Rajesh, a declared 'bad character' who was living apart from his wife, tried to forcibly take away his daughter.

Rajesh, who had come with an accomplice, later fled the scene and is absconding, police said.

Married to Nabi Karim resident Rajesh in 2000, Meenu was living seperatelo with her daughter at her parents' place in Madipur.

Meenu had reportedly 'left' Rajesh after he fell in bad company and started indulging in criminal activities.

Meenu's mother Maya said Rajesh had made such attempt earlier too in which a case also had been registered against him under Section 307.
