Peaceful repolling in ten polling booths in four wards
New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Repolling in ten polling booths in four wards of Delhi passed off peacefully today.
An official of the state election commission said the voting percentage in the four wards where repolling was ordered by the state election commission yesterday, ranged from 24 per cent to 48 per cent.
While 48.99 per cent polling was reported from the Rana Pratap Bagh ward, there was 24.47 per cent polling at the Pratap Vihar ward. The polling percentage at three polling stations in Nithari ward was 45.7 per cent while 26.1 per cent polling was witnessed in five polling booths in Vikas Nagar, the official said.
The repolling at the ten polling booths, the first time a repoll has been conducted in MCD polls, was ordered by the state election commission following technical snags in EVMs, used for the first time, clashes between rivals and complaints of 'misappropriation' pouring in from several quarters.
The counting of votes for the 272 wards of the MCD is to be held tomorrow.
