Minister assures regular drinking water supply to city of palaces

Mysore, Apr 6 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Cooperation G T Deve Gowda, who is also Mysore District Incharge Minister, today assured that regular drinking water supply to the City of Palaces from April 21.

Talking to newsmen here after meeting concerned officials and agitators who were protesting against non-supply of drinking water and also against unhygienic condition of the drinking water supplied.

He instructed the officials to maintain regular supply of drinking water.

Mr Gowda also assured that the Melapura water project would be completed within 10 days time.

With water level in KRS reduced to below 80 feet against 94 feet last year during this period, the Corporation authorities supplying drinking water on alternative day. It was feared that the water level in KRS may further be reduced since there were no proper rain in the catchment areas last year.

The Minister took to task the officials for supplying unhygienic water. He said that action would be taken if the officials failed to act immediately.
