Kumaraswamy spends a night in agriculture labour's house
Mandya, Karnataka, Apr 6 (UNI) Continuing his village stay, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy stayed in the house of an agriculture labourer in Honaganahalli Village in Malavalli taluk.
He was gwen a traditional welcome by villagers. The Chief Minister stayed last night in the house of Masanaiah, an agriculture labourer, who also owns one acre of dry land. He had built the house with a loan under Ashrya scheme. He had two sons, one was a B.com graduate but unemployed. The father sought the Chief Minister to provide job to his son which was agreed to by the CM.
Later launching development projects of Rs 100 crore in the taluk Mr Kumaraswamy asked officials to spend at least one day to know the problems of the village people who have been deprived of their rights.
Eventhough his government has announced various programmes for the poor people, particularly for women, the programmes had not reaching the needy, he regretted.
Referring to the primary education in the state, he said there was no proposal to hand over the government schools to the private institutions. Over 500 high schools had already been opened in the state, he said.
