Guj VHP welcomes Allahabad HC ruling of Muslims as non-minority
Ahmedabad, Apr 5 (UNI) Gujarat Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has welcomed today's rulling of the Allahabad High Court, saying Muslims were not a minority community in Uttar Pradesh.
Welcoming the Ruling, Gujarat VHP General Secretary Jaydeep Patel demanded that any special privileges given to Muslims under minority community status be withdrawn at once.
He said that granting of such minority status to any community was an action to divide the citizens on the lines of religion.
Besides this, such status also becomes a vote-bank tool for the political parties, Patel said.
Mr Patel questioned as to how a community having a population of over 15 crore could be considered a minority community.
Barring Parsi community, no other community should be given minority status, he stated in a release.
