Badal takes notice of absence of officers from "Sangat Darshan"
Chandigarh, Apr 5 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today took serious notice of absence of some departmental heads from ''Sangat Darshan'' held for the third day today at Punjab Bhawan here.
Mr Badal directed Mr D S Guru, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, to ensure the presence of officers concerned in the future.
Redressing grievances of the general public on the spot, the Chief Minister announced Rs one lakh from his relief fund for the treatment of Mr Satpal Arora of Mann Singh Wala village in Muktsar district, who has to undergo liver transplant.
Mr Badal directed that the money may be sent directly to the hospital where Mr Arora was getting treatment. In a similar case, he sanctioned Rs 25,000 out of the Chief Minister's Relief Yojana for the treatment of Mr Krishan Chand Singla, Press Correspondent of Tapa Mandi, who was suffering from parlasis.
Giving patient hearing to about 460 complainants, Mr Badal assured them that Sangat Darshan programme would continue till the grievances of all people of Punjab were redressed.
He assured the people of justice and cooperation and reiterated his resolve to serve them with missionery zeal, honesty and devotion and provide a transparent and clean administration.
Mr Badal said that underlying objective of the Sangat Darshan was to bridge the gap between the people and the state administration. Directions have been given to officers of concerned departments to submit compliance report on action taken on the complaints of the people within a week.
