Essar Oil begins supplies of LPG, kerosene to PSU oil cos

New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) Private sector petroleum refining and marketing major Essar Oil, which commissioned its 10.5 million tonnes per annum refinery in Gujarat in November 2006, has begun supplying LPG and kerosene to state-run oil marketing companies to be distributed through the public distribution system.

The move is seen as a confidence-building measure with PSU oil companies on the back of RIL's move to convert its existing Jamnagar refinery into an export-oriented unit, company sources said.

Essar Oil is expected to supply 36,000 tonnes of LPG per month, once its refinery its fully commissioned by September this year. The company now supplies 12,000 tonnes of domestic cooking gas, which along with kerosene, will be distributed by PSU oil companies in Gujarat.
