Asha Swarup is new I&B Secy; SK Arora goes to Youth Affairs

New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) Ms Asha Swarup has been appointed Information and Broadcasting Secretary replacing present incumbent SK Arora, it was officially announced today.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the secretary-level appointments, an official spokesperson here said.

Mr Arora -- an Andhra Pradesh cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1971 batch -- shall be Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Affairs&Sports.

Ms Asha Swarup -- a Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS officer of the 1973 batch -- is presently Special Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Department of Commerce of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
