Arora is new Secretary in Youth and Sports ministry

New Delhi, Apr 3 (UNI) Senior IAS officer S K Arora will be the new Secretary in the Ministry of YOuth Affairs and Sports.

He replaces Mr Madhukar Gupta, who has taken over as the Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on March 31 in the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr V K Duggal.

Mr Arora, a 1971 batch IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh Cadre, is at present Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has also approved the appointment of Ms Asha Swarup, a 1973 batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, will be the new Secretary in the I and B Ministry. She is at present Special Secretary and Financial adviser in the Department of Commerce and Industry.

Ms Rajwant Sandhu, who belongs to the 1975 batch of the Himachal Pradesh cadre of the IAS, will be the new Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
