RJD continues to lead after 13th round of counting in Palamu
Daltonganj, Apr 2(UNI) RJD's Ghuran Ram today maintained lead over his nearest rival Kameshwar Baitha(BSP) by more than ten thousand votes after 13th round of counting for the Palamu Parilamentary by-election.
Mr Ram polled 1,33,874 votes while the BSP candidate, a former naxal who was at present lodged in Garwah jail, scored 1,23,535.
BJP's Jawahar Paswan was trailing on the third position.
On March 29, an estimated 13.66 lakh electorate exercised their franchise in the naxal-dominated Palamu Lok Sabha bypoll, which was necessitated after Manoj Bhuiyan(RJD) quit his Lok Sabha membership following the cash-for-query scam.
A total of 15 candidates were in the battle of ballots.
