High alert sounded in Bihar
Patna, Apr 2 (UNI) The Bihar government has pooled up all available resources to preempt any move by proscribed CPI (Maoist) activists to launch attacks on government installations.
Inspector general of police(headquarters) Anil Sinha told UNI that security forces had been put on high alert following the Maoist attack on Riga police station and banks in Sitamarhi district on Saturday night.
He, however, claimed that the extremists' attack was successfully foiled by the police, adding massive combing operation was on to nab the cadres involved in the incident.
''The naxalites usually take shelter in villages which makes the operation against them more difficult,'' he stated.
About the growing nexus between Indian and Nepalese Maoists, Mr Sinha said it had international ramifications so the matter could be sorted out at a higher level. '' But our security personnel are keeping a strict vigil along the Indo-Nepal border to prevent the sneaking of extremists into Bihar from across the border,'' he added.
