BSF yet to hand over the arrested militants to police

Bangaon, Apr 02 (UNI) The alleged four Laskar-e-Toiba militants arrested by the BSF were not handed over to the West Bengal Police till this evening.

The militants were interrogated and examined by the intelligence sources yet BSF personnel did not hand over them to the state police.

According to police, BSF apprehended Sheik Shamim, Sk Abdullah, Md Yunis and Mujaffar Ahmed Khan alias Alamgir from behind the Central Warehouse complex while they were sneaking in the country through the porus Indo-Bangladesh border.

After a marathon interrogation till late night by the BSF, police and other central and state intelligence personnel, it was told that of the quartet, two were Pakistani nationals, one from Kashmir and the other from Maharashtra.

Inspector General BSF Somesh Goel had reached Haridaspur late last night and interrogated the quartet. BSF had seized fake passports, foreign currencies and some incriminating documents that indicated involvement of the quartet with the extremist outfit, informed sources said.
