BSF yet to hand over alleged LeT militants to police
Bangaon, Apr 2 (UNI) Four alleged Lashker-e-Toiba militants, arrested by the BSF personnel near here, were yet to be handed over to the West Bengal Police.
Though the alleged LeT militants were interrogated and examined by the intelligence officials, they have still not been handed over to the state police.
According to police, the BSF apprehended Sheik Shamim, Sk Abdullah, Md Yunis and Mujaffar Ahmed Khan alias Alamgir from behind the Central Warehouse complex while they were sneaking into the country through the porous Indo-Bangladesh border.
After a marathon interrogation till late night by the BSF, the police and other Central and state intelligence personnel, it was found that of the quartet, two were the Pakistani nationals, while one was from Kashmir and the other from Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, Inspector General (BSF) Somesh Goel reached Haridaspur late last night and interrogated the quartet. The BSF had seized fake passports, foreign currencies and some incriminating documents that indicated involvement of the quartet with the extremist outfit, informed sources said.
