Maoists bid to loot police armoury foiled: Official
Patna, Mar 31 (UNI) The Maoist bid to loot the police armoury at the Riga police station in Sitamarhi had been foiled and additional reinforcements rushed to the area following the attack, state Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah said here today.
The attack was engineered to challenge the state authorities and loot the police armoury but the extremists could not succeed due to the alertness of the police personnel, he added.
He said communication with the Riga police station had been ''totally snapped'' but additional reinforcements moved there from adjoining areas.
The police station and the adjoining areas were being strategically surrounded, Mr Amanuallah added.
