CM's son wants to return alloted land to government
Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said his son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy wants to return the 487 acres of land, allotted to his cement company in Kadapa district, to the government after a section of media and the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) criticised them on the issue.
Speaking to newspersons here, Dr Reddy said ''my son has informed me that he wants to return the land to the government which was allotted to his cement company at the rate of Rs one lakh per acre as the market rate was not more than Rs 20,000''.
''The opposition parties and a section of the media are politicising the land allotment issue since the state cabinet has approved the land allotment. My son wanted to establish the factory.
But, he is not ready to take up the project on the alloted land'', he added.
Alleging that the TDP Chief and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had alloted 150 acres of land to a Telugu Desam Party politburo member and 600 acres of land to L and T company at ''throw away prices'', Dr Reddy said the TDP had developed ''anti-development'' attitude and concentrated on ''finding out faults'' with the government.
