Rs 5 stamp on late filmmaker Mehboob Khan

Mumbai, Mar 31: A rupee five postage stamp on legendary filmmaker Mehboob Khan, maker of epoch-making film 'Mother India', was released here.

The family members of the late filmmaker and all the film personalities, associated with him during his film career, like Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu, Kumar Gaurav, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt, Govinda and Kiran Shantaram and their family members were present on the occasion yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Priya Dutt, daughter of late Nargis and Sunil Dutt and present MP from North West Mumbai, said her late father had initiated the process of getting a postage stamp in memory of Mehboob released and she had merely followed up on the issue.

Chief Post Master General K Noorjehan said the post department has so far brought out 23 stamps in memory of legendary film personalities.
