Mumbai, Mar 31 (UNI) Designer Nida Mahmood's collection for her label 'Skin', aimed at dressing the modern Indian women, were showcased at the Lakme Fashion Week here today.

The garments had shades of light and dark tones with detailing like quilting and textured machine hand embroidery. Keeping to the hand-crafted pattern, Nida even had hand-made buttons.

From shades of red to chocolate, fuchsia, old rose and then to cream, Nida took the colour story from one end of the spectrum to the other.

To match the range of shades, her silhouettes swayed from the red crepe tunics with twisted bubble hemline embellished with bronze flowers, a silk belt and brown jodhpurs, to crepe body suit with block print and quilting and then on to a short sleeve shirt with pin tucks turtle neck and curved overlap placket for tunics.

Nida moved to maxis with textured flower border in brown ombre and on to saris with touches of traditional block print and textured flowers perfectly teamed with a brocade blouses.

She said yesteryear Bollywood beauty and actor Parveen Babi, known for her style and elegance during her reign on the silver screen, was her inspiration.
