Two CPI(M) activists murdered at Belpahari in Bengal
Midnapore, Mar 30 (UNI) At least two CPI (M) members were killed and three abducted today by the Maoist activists at Keundishol village under Belpahari police station of the district.
Police here said both deceased were the CPI (M) Local Committee and Simulpal Gram Panchayat members.
The incident occurred when the slain along with some other party members were returning home after a Panchayat budget meeting.
An armed gang of 25-30 Maoists suddenly pounced upon them and started pumping a volley of bullets, killing two on the spot, and then abducted three others.
None had been arrested in this connection so far, police added.
The Maoists were chanting slogans denouncing the Left Front government's industrialisation process and moved towards the bordering state of Jharkhand.
