PMK holds black flag demo on quota issue in TN
Chennai, Mar 30 (UNI) The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), a strong votary for Backward Class (BC) quota, today staged a black flag demonstration across Tamil Nadu protesting the Supreme Court's stay order on 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in higher educational institutions.
About 500 PMK workers participated in the agitation led by PMK Founder-Leader S Ramadoss and Party President G K Mani from the Memorial Hall here.
The agitators wore black shirts and badges during the demonstration while party MPs taged a similar protest in New Delhi.
A report from Tiruchirapalli said PMK volunteers staged a demonstration before the District Collector's office under the leadership of Party Youth Wing Deputy Secretary V Senthil.
A Coimbatore report said 37 law college students,including six girls, were arrested for holding a rasta roko on the issue.
