Haryana Govt reduces CST on Maruti cars

Chandigarh, Mar 30 (UNI) The Haryana Government today decided to reduce Central Sales Tax (CST) on Maruti cars and vehicles from three per cent to two per cent effective from April 1, 2007.

following representation made by Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL).

The decision was taken at a Cabinet Meeting presided by Chief Minister Bhupinder singh Hooda here.

The cabinet observed that the association of MUL with Haryana is historic and it has definitely put the state on the global map of the auto manufacturing industry. Also, it has made massive expansion in Haryana.

Therefore, it was decided to reduce the rate of CST on inter state sale of cars, vans and gypsy jeeps, manufactured by the company to any registered dealer on production of prescribed declaration in form ''C'' from three per cent to two per cent.
