New Delhi, March 30 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today dismissed a petition by suspended Inspector Devender Manchanda's son Prashant Manchanda seeking registration of an FIR against Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul.

Arguing for the petitioner, RK Kapoor accused KK Paul of abetting suicide of the suspended Inspector Devender Manchanda.

Justice Shiv Narayan Dhingra said in his order that, ''the petitioner has failed to show that his complaint or the suicide note prima facie discloses commission of offence under Section 306 (abetment to commit suicide) of the IPC requiring registration of FIR or investigations into the allegations.

Manchanda had left a letter squarely blaming Paul for the extreme step. Prashant's counsel had argued over the note and the circumstances leading to the inspector's death. These are enough evidence for the lodging of an FIR and ordering a probe into the case, he added.

Reacting to the court order, Prashant later said he could challenge it in the Supreme Court when he got the order.
