D and B releases guide on India's Top IT Companies-2007
Bangalore, Mar 30 (UNI) Dun and Bradstreet (D and B), the leading provider of global business information, knowledge and insight, today announced the launch of the inaugural edition of its publication, 'India's Top IT Companies-2007' here.
The publication profiled 182 companies listed on various parameters like total income, services offered, verticals serviced, location and employee size. This would serve as a current and thorough information resource on the Indian IT Industry.
Speaking at the launch, D and B President and CEO - India Manoj Vaish said ''the Indian IT Industry has emerged as the flagship of Brand India across the world, and continues to grow at a rapid pace.
Its contribution to India's GDP has grown from 1.2 per cent in 1999-2000 to 4.8 per cent in 2006. This is expected to cross five per cent next year.'' He said the guide was an attempt to capture the essence of this important industry. ''When India is consolidating its position as the preferred IT service provider, the publication will prove to be a valuable resource for organisations that are considering working with Indian companies, and will also serve as a platform for the industry to reach out to potential clients,'' he said.
L and T Infotech Board member and Chief Executive V K Magapu said ''it is envisaged that the offshoring business from the developed countries will gather volume, while at the same time adding many new flavours and the good news is that offshoring to India is a 'must do' for all.'' UNI
