Court to frame charges on April 16 in Chaturvedi case
Mumbai, Mar 30 (UNI) A Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court today fixed April 16 as the date to frame charges against Salil Chaturvedi, promoter of Provogue apparels, for his alleged involvement in the narcotics case.
Additional Sessions Judge P N Deshmukh fixed April 16 as the date to frame charges against Chaturvedi.
Earlier, Chaturvedi was arrested under the NDPS Act in the wake of the arrest of his employee and manager Allwyn Sequeira and Vishal Meghnani respectively in 2004. Sequeira was booked under the NDPS Act for booking a courier which allegedly contained cocaine vials for Chennai at the airport.
Meghnani is alleged to have revealed the role of Chaturvedi in the drugs case. Following which, he was arrested under the Act.
During a search operation at his residence, the police found vials with white powder from Chaturvedi's bathroom.
