Trade unions of Anglo-French textile mill take out procession
Puducherry, Mar 29 (UNI) Members of all trade unions of Anglo-French Textile Mills here today took out a procession through the main thoroughfares of the town to press their demands.
Demanding the modernisation of the mill, setting up a monitoring committee with representation to trade unions and an inquiry on corrupt officials, they took out the procession from the Singaravelar statue to the Legislative Assembly.
However, on reaching the Ambur Saalai, police prevented them from proceeding further. The volunteers shouted slogans and dispersed.
