Bangalore, Mar 29 (UNI) In the wake of the Supreme Court staying the notification of the Act providing for OBC quota in higher education, the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B) will decide on the future course of action after the other institutes decide on the matter.

IIM-B had decided to increase the intake to 270 from 240 for the Post Graduate Programme in Business Management to accommodate the OBC quota in phases.

''We are yet to look at the apex court ruling. IIM-B Director Prakash G Apte would be going to Mumbai tomorrow and after his return, a meeting of the Board of Governors would be convened to discuss the matter. However, we have already decided to increase the intake,'' IIM-B Spokesperson Prof Amarnath Ramaswamy said.

The Board had decided on Monday to increase the intake as per the Mr Veerappa Moily-headed Oversight Committee's recommendation that 27 per cent of the seats in higher educational institutions should be reserved for OBCs.
