Opposition unsettled with development in UP: Mulayam
Aligarh, Mar 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today said the opposition was unsettled over the development works undertaken by his government and were only harping on 'remove Mulayam' rhetoric.
Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Yadav said the opposition parties were worried over the rising popularity of the Samajwadi Party.
''These parties have no issue to rake in the coming UP poll,'' he added.
Scoffing at Congress, he noted the party was losing its existence all over the country. ''They have already lost their state governments in Gujarat, Jharkhand, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal and soon Delhi and Haryana would fall from their lap.'' ''It is ironical that such as party is conspiring the fall of SP government.'' The former defence minister forecast, that SP would emerge as a potent force after the polls, even as he exhorted the electorate to exercise their franchise.
''Throng the polling centres from 0600 hrs on the voting day and carry water and 'sattu' (grounded gram powder) to eat. Return home only after casting your vote...your vote will change the destiny of UP,'' he advised.
''The amount of work done by my government in the last three and a half years is unparalleled by any other earlier regime,'' he reiterated.
