Jaipur's Raj Palace joins elite club of hotels
New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) After Amar Vilas, Udai Vilas, Vanya Vilas of the Oberoi Hotels and Kumarakom Lake Resort, the Raj Palace in Jaipur, known for its resplendent glass chandelier and antique crockery, has become the sixth property in India to join the elite club of Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) of the world.
As discerning travellers continue to seek out the unique and exciting, the SLH has once again answered the call with the addition of The Raj Palace, a 29-room palatial retreat in the pink city of Jaipur.
The addition of this grandiose palace adds to the vast unique experiences available throughout Small Luxury Hotels of the World's over 400 hotels in 65 countries.
''SLH is diligent about finding the very best properties in a particular location in order to deliver the most memorable experience to a very discerning clientele,'' commented Mr Paul Kerr, Joint-Managing Director of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
''We are excited to be able to extend our offerings in such a culturally rich and sought after location with the addition of another exclusive property.'' Being the only Palace Hotel in India to make it to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the Raj Palace offers suite-only accommodation, a selection of multi-cuisine restaurants and traditional Ayurvedic and Kerala massage.
The hotel houses one of the biggest crystal chandeliers of India and a beautiful antique crockery museum with a collection of around 200 years old antique crockery.
SLH's portfolio growth is in direct response to the ever-increasing demand of luxury travellers.
In 2006, total reservations at SLH hotels grew by 16 per cent over 2005, while Revenue Per Room (RPR) increased by 15 per cent, indicating that not only was there an increase in total bookings but guests were willing to pay higher rates for the overall experience and added value that an SLH hotel does provide.
SLH boasts of an unrivalled collection of over 400 independent hotels in more than 65 countries, which offer an infinite variety of exceptional experiences.
''Whether guests are seeking a classic city centre hotel, a peaceful spa resort, a rustic country house, an idyllic private island or a secluded safari lodge, SLH is guaranteed to have something to suit all needs,'' Mr Kerr said.
