Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) Known for his unusual themes, Anand Kabra turned an unconventional inspiration into a striking collection when he presented 'The Orange Scarf 1927' creation at the Lakme Fashion Week today.

Following the work of Tamara De Lempicka, Anand's collection, a tribute to the artist, was woven around a beautiful multi-orange hand painted swirl and cube design, which appeared discreetly throughout his works.

The Autumn/Winter garments varied from dresses, pinafores, skirts, blouses, jackets and even saris, which were tastefully embellished.

Working predominantly with silk, chiffon and twill, Anand's creations were a pleasant blend of the classic yet contemporary silhouettes. The detailing was restricted to pleating which appeared on the skirt of the jackets that added to the fine construction of the pieces.

'The Orange Scarf 1927' was inspired by a period in history typifying struggles and revivals, but for Anand, the collection will be a ''sure seller'' in any global market.
