280 file nominations for Ph III of UP polls

Lucknow, Mar 29 (UNI) Altogether 280 candidates have filed their nominations for the 57 assembly seats going to polls in the third phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on April 18.

A total of 650 candidates have filed their nominations for phase-III and tomorrow is the last date for filing papers.

In the fourth phase, 55 candidates filed their nominations today and a total of 100 candidates have submitted their papers so far.

Candidates can submit their nominations till March 30 for the third phase while scrutiny of the papers would be on April 2.

Candidates can withdraw their nominations till April 4.

Poll process for phase IV started yesterday with the issuance of notification in 57 assembly seats where polling would be held on April 23. Last date for filing of nominations for this phase is April 4 and scrutiny would be done the next day. Candidates can withdraw their papers till April 7.

In phase I, where polls would be held on April 7, altogether 848 candidates are in the fray while for phase II where elections will be held for 58 seats on April 18, a total of 883 candidates are in the contest.
