Trade delegation from Detroit visits Bangalore

Bangalore, Mar 28 (UNI) A ten-member trade delegation from the Detroit Chamber of Commerce, the largest in the USA, today had an interaction with Indian industrialists and businessmen here.

Speaking on the occasion, jointly organised by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Bangalore Chamber of Industries and Commerce, Detroit Chamber of Commerce President Dick Blouse said the Detroit Chamber was facilitating its members to explore the Indian market space which offered lot of business opportunities.

The Detroit Chamber identified IT, Legal Services, Business Association, Automotive, Aerospace, Casting, Forging, Consultancy, Trade Investment, Food Processing, Logistics and Manufacturing as some of the areas to establish synergy, collaborations and alliance with the Indian counterparts.

FICCI Karnataka State Council Chairman S N Agarwal said the Indian economy was growing at a fast pace and opened up a lot of opportunities to work together.

He said Karnataka was in the forefront in IT and ITeS exports, besides in manufacturing, power, pharmacy, construction, machine tools, aviation and automobiles. The Government was trying its best to improve infrastructure facilities. Bangalore was the preferred destination for global investors, where 87 of the Fortune 500 companies had set their footprints, he added.

BCIC former President S K Sharma said Karnataka offered exciting opportunities in the area of aviation, science and technology, engineering and related areas.
