Seven houses, a shop gutted in Kinnuar

Shimla, Mar 28 (UNI) Seven houses and a shop were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out in a village in Kinnuar district of Himachal Pradesh early today, police said.

The fire completely gutted seven houses and a shop in Rarang village of the district, but no loss of life was reported in the incident.

The sources said local people, fire and police personnel battled with fire for over two hours before bringing it under control by 0430 hrs.

The cause of the fire was, however, not immediately known, the sources said, adding that loss due to the fire was being assessed.

The district administration has announced an immediate relief of Rs 10,000 and blankets, clothes and utensils to those families whose houses have been burnt in the fire, the sources said.

The shop owner has been provided an immediate relief of Rs 5,000.

Local legislator Jagat Singh Negi has expressed grief and sorrow over the accident and promised all possible help to the affected families.
