Union RD ministry releases Rs 55.24 lkh under RGNDWM

Agartala, Mar 28: The Union Rural Development Ministry has recently released Rs 55,24,000 to Tripura under the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission(RGNDWM) for the current fiscal.

An official release here said the amount has been released especially for a computerisation project under the revised project guidelines during the 2006-07.

With this release, the total fund released for Tripura adds up to Rs 102.29 lakh.

In a sanction order, the Union RD ministry stated that the funds should be utilized for the purpose, for which the amount was originally released and as per the terms and conditions.

A half-yearly progress report of implmentation of computerisation project of RGNDWM should regularly be sent to the Mission, the release said.

Moreover, the utilisation certificate in prescribed format for expenditure during the years should also be sent within six months of closure of the financial year and certificate of actual expenditure from the office of the Accountant General of the state within 18 months, the letter stated.

The release of funds being made for execution and completion of schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities for rural habitations and schools under the centrally-sponsored ARWSP, the release added.
