Metal prices fall on lack of fresh demand
Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) Metal prices fell on lack of fresh demand today however the London Metal Exchange went up, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In Ferrous segment, copper heavy and copper utencil slashed by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively due to sluggish demand.
Brass utencils and and Brass cutting also eased by Rs 100 per quintal each on thin buying support.
In Non-ferrous category, Copper wire bar and zinc slab came down by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.
Tin slab also cheaper by Rs 10 per kg on poor demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,200, Copper utensils - Rs 30,800, Brass utensils - Rs 24,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,400 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 36,600, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slab Rs 18,100, Lead ingots - Rs 9,100, Tin slab - Rs 760 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,200 (per kg).
