IAF to organise air show near Mangalore on Apr 8

Mangalore, Mar 28 (UNI) As part of its platinum jubilee celebrations, the Indian Air Force will organise an air show at Panambur Beach, on the outskirts of the city, on April 8.

Briefing newspersons here today, Deputy Commissioner Maheshwar Rao said a contingent of 87 members and eight aircraft would display various acrobatics to enthrall the people of Dakshina Kannada district. The renowned Suryakiran team would display various acrobatic shows like parachute jumping, air dropping and other daredevil activities, he added.

He said the air show was likely to be extended by one more day.

The main aim of the show was to exhibit the prowess of the IAF to the citizens and motivate the youths to join the IAF. Besides, it was also aimed at providing comprehensive awareness about the IAF. A recruitment rally for the IAF would be held in May next, he added.
