Kolkata, Mar 28 (UNI) Blaming 'anti-Left forces' for the indefinite strike in Hindusthan Motors factory at Uttar Para, the Centre of Indian Trade Union(CITU) today alleged that trouble was being sought to be whipped up in the country's oldest car manufacturing factory on the lines of Nandigram.

CITU West Bengal General Secretary Kali Ghosh said two of the six registered unions joined hands with anti-Left forces to suddenly call the strike from March 13 without serving any notice and discussing the CITU union.

''The strike is ''political motivated'' as they ignored our advice to get the workers' demands fulfilled through a tripartite meeting,'' Mr Ghosh said.

Declaring that CITU was not a party to this ''sinister design'', he said those who had called the strike were bent upon creating violence as was done in Nandigram and Singur so that the factory was closed and the Left Front Government maligned.

Mr Ghosh, however, claimed that more than 50 per cent of the workers had ignored the strike call and were attending duty inspite of intimidation.

He also sought the intervention of the Labour Minister into settling the arrear wages of the Hind Motors workers.
